Lucho Salcedo was born in Bogota, Colombia, in the year 1978. His interest in arts grew during his adolescence, and developed even further when he decided to study Graphic Design and Design Management at Universidad Jorge Tadeo Lozano in Bogota. After completing his studies, Lucho, passionate for diverse materials and color, focused on practicing self-taught plastic arts. Since 2006 he has been teaching at college level at several renowned universities and art schools in Bogota.
His interest in plastic arts has taken him through an extensive journey exploring illustration techniques, which has in turn led to exploring different materials and substrates, demonstrating a highly specialized technical skill in each of his works.
His work has been displayed at prominent art galleries in Colombia, and internationally in the United States in the cities of New York, Austin, and San Diego. He has also participated, and has been awarded in several art events in the United States.
His artistic focus is closely related to facial expression, glances, and all they transmit.
Currently he is interested in taking art to the streets, allowing everyone to have an art piece, whether as a commonly used object, or what he calls "Applied Art." His own brand “Salcedo” and "SalcedoyPalacio" carries several product lines such as shoes, pillows, notebooks, purses, and leather bags, to name a few.
